Questions about invoice generator
How are the totals worked out?
Every amount is kept in whole cents, so the arithmetic is exact and never drifts the way rounded decimals do. Each line is quantity times unit price, the subtotal is the sum of the lines, the discount comes off the subtotal, the tax is charged on what is left, and the total is that plus the tax.
Can I use a discount and a tax at the same time?
Yes, and the order matters. The discount is taken from the subtotal first, then the tax is calculated on the discounted amount, which is the way most tax rules work. A percentage discount is rounded to the nearest cent, and a discount larger than the subtotal is capped at the subtotal.
Which currencies are supported?
Sixteen of them, from US dollars and euros to dirhams, rands and yen. The symbol and the number of decimals follow the currency, so yen is shown without decimals while euros put the symbol after the amount.
Can I put my company logo on the invoice?
Yes. Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP file and it is placed in the header of both the preview and the PDF. The image is read in the page and is never uploaded.
Is my invoice data sent anywhere?
No. The invoice is built and exported inside your browser, so your client details, prices and tax numbers never touch a server.
